Lake Winnipegosis

The Winnipegosissee (English Lake Winnipegosis; French Lac Winnipegosis ) is an approximately 5164 km ² ( 5374 km ² including islands ) large freshwater lake in the Canadian province of Manitoba.

The about 300 km northwest of the provincial capital Winnipeg is Canada's eleventh largest lake situated waters and has almost ten times the size of Lake Constance. The lake drains an area of ​​about 50,000 km ². Outflow of Winnipegosissee is the Waterhen River, which flows into the southern Manitobasee.

Winnipegosis is a diminutive form of the name of the adjacent, much larger Lake Winnipeg.
