Lakeside is a small town on the southern end of Lake Windermere, Cumbria, England. Lakeside is located on the Furness peninsula and belonged until 1974 to Lancashire. Lakeside was built as a ship's berth as the Furness Railway reached the town in 1869. Ships on Lake Windermere now no longer had to drive over the Leven and tourists could reach the Lake District here easy.

The railway line from Ulverston was closed in 1965 for regular operation and is now only operated between Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway as a museum by the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway.
