Lalitaditya Muktapida

Lalitaditya - Muktapida (reigned about 723-760 ) was a king of Kashmir from the Karkota dynasty, which still controlled the Punjab and eastern Afghanistan except Kashmir.

He fought the Arabs of Sind from, squeezed to 733 the art sealing conveyor Yasovarman of Kannauj on the rank of a vassal down and also defeated the king of Bihar and Bengal Jivitagupta II. Then he penetrated far into the Deccan to ( by 736 struggle for the throne at the Rashtrakuta ) to draw from the local disputes his advantage. But by 747 he had to return to Kashmir, to retain the Tibetans and Tang Chinese. He should have penetrated to the Tarim basin and on the border of Mongolia. However, when his army froze during heavy snowfall, he committed suicide by in the face of self-immolation. His actions were described by the poet and chronicler Kalhana, who is also exaggerated in order to increase Lalitadityas fame.
