Lam Luk Ka District
Amphoe Lam Luk Ka ( Thai: อำเภอ ลำลูกกา ) is a district ( Amphoe ) of the province of Pathum Thani in central Thailand.
Geography
The county is like the Amphoe Khlong Luang Thanyaburi and in the historical Thung Luang area of the eastern Chao Phraya level. The Rangsit Canal ( Khlong Rangsit ) is the main water resource of the district.
Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Thanyaburi the province of Pathum Thani, Amphoe Nakhon Nayok Province Ongkharak, Amphoe Bang Nam Priao the province of Chachoengsao, Nong Chok, the Khet Khlong Sam Wa, Sai Mai and Don Mueang and Amphoe Mueang Pathum Bangkok Thani.
History
The name of Lam Luk Ka comes from a fertile marshlands, which was called " Bueng Lam Luk Ka ". When the government in 1904 the county einrichtete, the word Bueng ( Marsh, Swamp ) was truncated.
Today Amphoe Lam Luk Ka belongs to the Rangsit area where during the reign of Rama V ( Chulalongkorn ) in the 1890s a then very advanced irrigation system was created around the Rangsit Canal. It became one of the most productive rice-growing areas of the country. The land price soared and farmers and workers flocked from other parts of the country here.
Traffic
In the westernmost tip of Amphoe Lam Luk Ka, the junction of Vibhavadi Rangsit Road is located (or the overlying paid Uttaraphimuk high street) and Phahonyothin Road ( Route 1 ). The district is also the Kanchanaphisek Street ( " Outer Bangkok Ring Road ", National Road 9) intersected.
Attractions
In Amphoe Lam Luk Ka, Vibhavadi - Rangsit in the triangle of and Phahonyothin Road, the Thai national memorial is located ( อนุสรณ์ สถาน แห่ง ชาติ, English National Memorial ).
Administrative divisions
Amphoe Lam Luk Ka ( tambon) is divided into eight municipalities.
There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:
- Lam Luk Ka ( เทศบาล ตำบล ลำลูกกา ) consists of the Tambon Kham Bueng Phroi and Lam Luk Ka,
- Lam Sai ( เทศบาล ตำบล ลำ ไทร ) consists of the Tambon Lam Sai.
There are also two cities ( Mueang thesaban ):
- Khu Khot ( เทศบาล เมือง คู ค ต ) consists of Tambon Khu Khot parts of,
- Lam Sam Kaeo ( เทศบาล เมือง ลำ สามแก้ว ) also consists of Tambon Khu Khot parts of the.
There are still eight Tambon administrative organizations (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
