Lamb Peak

Lamb Peak is a prominent bare rock summit about 3.7 km south-southeast of Maagoe Peak. He is part of the Gifford peaks in the Heritage Range, the southern part of the West Antarctic Ellsworthgebirges.

The mountain was mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the compilation of Ellsworthgebirges in the years 1961-1966 through site surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named Lamb peak after Lieutenant Commander Arthur D. Lamb, in 1966 three summer long as the " Operations and Communications Officer" of the United States Navy was involved in the replenishment of supplies in Antarctica to the Operation Deep Freeze.
