Lambda Scorpii
Shaula (also Alascha ) is the proper name of the star λ Scorpii ( Lambda Scorpii ). Shaula is located at the sting of the scorpion, the name (Arabic الشولاء, DMG aš - Saula ʾ ) means " raised tail." Shaula has an apparent magnitude of 1.65 mag and belongs to the spectral class B2. Shaula is about 700 light- years away ( Hipparcos database). Shaula is a member of the Gould Belt.
