Lambersart

Lambersart is a commune ( as at 1 January 2011) with 28 581 inhabitants in Nord, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais. It belongs to the district of Lille, Lille to Canton -Ouest and the community association Lille Métropole Communauté urbaine.

Geography

Lambersart located in the north of France, Lille -Roubaix - Tourcoing conurbation and directly borders the northern French city of Lille, from which it is separated only by the channeled Deûle (Canal de la Deûle ) and the Bois de Boulogne. The Belgian border is located about ten kilometers northwest of Lambersart.

Neighboring communities of Lambersart are Saint-André- lez -Lille in the north- east, Lille ( with the districts Canteleu and Lomme ) in the east, southeast and south and Lompret and Verlinghem in the northwest.

Churches in Lambersart

The churches of Saint - Calixte, Notre Dame de Fatima, Saint Sepulchre and the parish center Saint -Gérard form the Catholic church Sainte Trinite, whose pastor is Jean -François Bordarier. Environment

The Colysée was built for the cultural event Lille in 2004 on the banks of Deûle (Lille 2004 was European Capital of Culture ). This architectural madness is the only building of a total of a dozen that had been erected in all its parts exclusively for Lille 2004. It is a work of Pierre -Louis Carlier, architect of the main facade of Notre- Dame de la Treille Cathedral in Lille.
