Lambert of St-Bertin

Lambert de Saint- Bertin (* 1060, † June 22, 1125 in the Abbey of Saint- Bertin ) was a French Benedictine and scholar.

1095-1125 was Lambertus abbot of the Abbey of Saint- Bertin at Saint- Omer ( Pas -de- Calais ).

Attributed to Lambert was the authorship of the Tractatus de moribus. This includes records of conversations with Anselm of Canterbury, who visited the Abbey in November 1097. Many theological and philosophical writings Lamberts, which have been reported are not preserved.

It is controversial whether it is at Abbot Lambert to the author of the Liber Floridus or whether a name the same monk is to be regarded as copyright. As its author Lambert de Saint- Omer worked at the same time in the same place, was built around the author some confusion. Recent research disconnect between the Abbot Lambert and the author of the same name of the Liber Floridus.
