Lambretta

The Lambretta was a motor scooter, which was designed and built by the Italian company Innocenti. From log house over four million copies were manufactured. History

Originally, Innocenti steel tubes. During the Second World War, among other munitions pods and vehicle parts in BMW license have been made ​​. 1945, the engineer Pierluigi Torre was asked to design a scooter. The name Lambretta was chosen after the Milan Lambrate district. The result was a less expensive scooter with encapsulated Unit Swing and Stahlrohrramen. The success of the Lambretta soon turned, and early forgave Innocenti world's licenses, for example in Germany at NSU, in Spain Serveta in India on API and Argentina to Siambretta. The Lambretta models were distinguished by technical quality and innovation. So were vehicles from the Innocenti to the first with electronic ignition or with disc brakes. The equipment of the two-stroke powered scooters ranged from 125 cc engine with 4.3 hp of the first models to 200cm ³ engine with 12 hp at the end of the development in 1971.

The crisis in the motorcycle business at the end of the sixties left traces also to Innocenti. In 1971 the production was stopped. 1972 bought Scooter India Ltd.. Serveta in Spain also made ​​based on the 3 Series LI / SX scooter under the name Lince / Lynx, Series 80 and Jet 200 until the mid-1980s. 2011 presented the Italian Motom Electronics Group, a new Lambretta on the Italian EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. The new Lambretta came in 2012 with air-cooled 125cm ³ - ³ and 150cm engines on the market in 2013 will follow 50cc versions.

Variants
