Lametz

Lametz is a commune with 79 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Ardennes department in the Champagne-Ardenne region in the canton Tourteron.

The population of the community grew from 88 people in 1962 to 100 people in 1968. By 1990 the number fell back to 68 to rise from 77 to 1999 inhabitants.

In the village is the product derived from the 17th -century castle Lametz and going back to the 12th century Romanesque church Lametz.

Personalities

The Princess of Monaco, Maria Caroline Gibert de Lametz (1793-1879), spent her youth at Castle Lametz.
