Lammhult

Lammhult is a locality ( Tätort ) in the Swedish province of Blekinge County, the historical province of Småland. The place belongs to the municipality of Växjö and is located on the National Highway 30 from Vaxjo to Jonkoping. By Lammhult the railway line runs Södra stambanan.

The village was mentioned in 1416 as Lamhult. For a long time was Lammhult only a small village, but location was then several companies in the furniture industry and as an important place in the so-called Kingdom of Furniture. Well-known furniture manufacturer Lammhults are the Lammhults Möbel AB, Svensson i Lammhult Norrgavel and Nilsson. The Lammhults Möbel AB was founded in 1945 by Edvin Ståhl and Adolf Andersson Lammhults Mekaniska Verkstad.

The population Lammhults amounted in 2000 1465 people, increased in 2005 to 1503 people and then declined until 2010 to 1459th The area of built-up area of 2.21 km ², however, rose to 2.25 km ².

The Swedish composer, conductor and musician Mats Larsson Gothe ( b. 1965 ) was born in Lammhult.
