To Samtgemeinde include the five municipalities Harbarnsen ( with Irmenseul ) Lamspringe ( with Glashütte ), Neuhof ( with Ammenhausen and Wöllersheim ) Sehlem ( with Evensen ) and Woltershausen ( with Hornsen, Graste and networks).
History
The Samtgemeinde Lamspringe created on July 1, 1965 from the former municipalities spots Lamspringe, Evensen, Graste, nets, Harbarnsen, Irmenseul, Woltershausen and Wöllersheim. 1972 joins the community Neuhof, and in 1974 the church Sehlem is affiliated.

The municipal election held on 11 September 2011 showed the following distribution of seats:
- SPD: 9 seats
- CDU: 6 seats
- GREEN: 1 seat
Coat of arms
The coat of arms of the velvet municipality was established in 1989.
Description: Gold five cross-shaped red leaves.
Reason: The five leaves symbolize the equality of member communities and point to the wooded area. The colors red and gold stand for the former belonging to the Bishopric of Hildesheim. The cross shape is reminiscent of the historical significance of the monastery Lamspringe for the area of today's integrated municipality.
