Lamy

Lamy is a manufacturer of writing instruments with headquarters in Heidelberg. According to the company, the family has an annual output of six million writing instruments and a turnover of around 50 million euros in Germany.

History

1930, the company was under the name " Orthos pen factory CJ Lamy "by C. Josef Lamy in Heidelberg founded. In 1948 the company was renamed C. Josef Lamy GmbH. The LAMY 27 was 1952, the breakthrough of the writing instruments brand LAMY in the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1957 the relocation of the company in the Heidelberg district Wieblingen.

Manfred Lamy ( * 1930 ) occurred in 1962 in the C. Josef Lamy GmbH as a marketing manager. 1964 saw the introduction of the ballpoint pen LAMY exact, with a refill. In 1973, Manfred Lamy sole managing director and developed the company into a world-renowned design brand.

In 1989, the production of its own ink is received. First time in 1994 a turnover of DM 100 million ( 51.13 million euros ) is generated.

After Manfred Lamy had retired in November 2006 by the Board, took over Bernard M. Roesner ( as sole managing ) the management of the company. Manfred Lamy Lamy is a member of the newly established Advisory Board and was honored in 2008 for his outstanding service to the design and a holistic, forward-looking company and product culture with the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Since about 2006, the Lamy logo is also on the ink cartridges.

  • Gerd A. Müller ( * 1932 † 1991) ( models: LAMY 2000 Lamy cp1, LAMY st, LAMY twin pen LAMY and unic ) worked after his studies at the art school in Wiesbaden from 1955 to 1965 as a designer at Braun. He worked in the Bauhaus tradition and designed the 1966 LAMY 2000. A commemorative edition of the noble LAMY 2000 blackwood was produced in 1996 and another anniversary edition of the LAMY 2000 in 2006 from polished high-tech ceramic. In 1974, Gerd A.
