Lan Krabue District

Amphoe Lan Krabue ( Thai: อำเภอ ลาน กระบือ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northeastern part of the province of Kamphaeng Phet. The Kamphaeng Phet province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

The Amphoe Lan Krabue is by following Amphoe limited (as seen from the south clockwise from ): Sai Ngam and Phran Kratai the province of Kamphaeng Phet, Khiri Mat in the province of Sukhothai, Amphoe Bang Rakam in the province of Phitsanulok and Amphoe Wachirabarami in the province of Phichit.

History

The area of Lan Krabue was covered in the past by dense forests. As a result of the many brines numerous indigenous water buffalo came (Bubalus bubalis) here, after which the immigrating here people called their new community Ban Lan Khwai. Khwai ( ควาย ) is the Thai name of the buffalo. After more and more people settled here, the government evaluated the village to a Tambon Lan Krabue.

The Amphoe Lan Krabue was created initially as a small district ( King Amphoe ) on 16 June 1977 after the two tambon Lan Krabue and Chong Lom Phran Kratai were removed. Then took place on 16 July 1984, the revaluation to a full-fledged Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Lan Krabue consists of seven sub-districts ( tambon), which further into 67 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Chong Lom consists of the whole tambon Chong Lom.

In addition, there are seven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
