The AMI Stadium ( Lancaster Park until 1998, until 2007 called Jade Stadium ) is a stadium in the New Zealand city of Christchurch. It can accommodate 43,000 spectators and is home to a variety of sports such as rugby union, rugby league, cricket, football and athletics. Main users of the stadium are the national rugby union teams Crusaders and Canterbury Rugby Football Union.

The opening took place on October 15, 1881 during an athletics event. Until 1889 also horse races were held. In 1957, the embankment was increased, which allowed an increase in capacity to 33,000 spectators. After the establishment of two additional grandstands in 1965 found 38,500 spectators. In 2000, the stadium was rebuilt, the earth dam and a standing terrace evaded two new seat grandstands. With regard to the Rugby Union World Cup 2011, the capacity to 43,000 spectators should be increased. On 20 January 2011, the stage was opened with spiked capacity by the Prime Minister of New Zealand John Key to be severely damaged later only a little more than a month by the Christchurch Earthquake of 22 February 2011. The two main grandstands are subsided by up to 40 cm. Another grandstand suffered severe damage so that a demolition was recommended. The Organizing Committee of the Rugby Union World Cup 2011 announced in a row on 16 March that take place in Christchurch, the second largest city in the country, no games. Originally five group matches and two quarterfinals were provided there. On 24 March 2012, the opening of a new stadium of the same name in the Addington area was carried out with a capacity of 14,700 spectators, the new home of the Super Rugby team is the Crusaders.
