Lance Davids

Lance Davids (* April 11, 1985 in Cape Town) is a South African football player and national team of his country, which currently has a contract with Lierse SK in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

Career

David was discovered in 2004 at the age of 18 years by the former South African national coach Stuart Baxter. In 2001 he joined Hellenic FC in the U-19 Division of TSV 1860 Munich. For the season 2004 /05 he was promoted to first team, managed there but not the breakthrough. His league debut came in the derby against Bayern when he came in to replace Harald Cerny. In his debut he set a new club record as the youngest player at 18 years and 225 days. He was 17 days younger than the previous record holder Helmut Roth. After Delron Buckley (Bochum) and Bradley Carnell ( Gladbach), Rowan Hendricks (Frankfurt), Glenn Jordens ( Darmstadt ) and the later Germanized Sean Dundee (KSC, Stuttgart) David was the sixth South Africans in the Bundesliga.

In January 2006 he moved to Sweden and played until 2008 when Djurgårdens IF. In early 2009 he returned to South Africa, especially in order to secure a place in the national team. First he was for SuperSport United on the ball, but went after just six months to Ajax Cape Town.

Again carried out for the season 2010/2011 the move to Europe. He signed a contract in Belgium with Lierse SK.

National

His first international game, he completed on 30 March 2004 against Australia.
