Lancer

Lanzierer belong to the European cavalry troops of modern times. They were mostly armed with a lance, but in the second half of the 16th century it led also increasingly Radschlosspistolen with it. They usually protected by a full plate armor or by a trotting harness, which reached to the knees. The heavy warhorses of Lanziere were often protected by a horse armor. The main task of Lanzierer was to break through the lines of the enemy. At the beginning of the 17th century Lanzierer went up in the branch of service of the cuirassiers.
