Landespolizei (Germany)

State Police in Germany is the collective term for the totality of all police authorities of a country within the portfolio of the respective Ministry of Interior or the inner authority of the city-states, in other words for all police forces of a country.

Legal framework

Under the Basic Law Police as the exercise of all governmental powers principle Countries thing, see Article 30 of the Basic Law. Organization, functions and powers are regulated primarily in the police laws of the countries, in some countries, the first is the subject of a separate police organization law.

Organization

Countries have the earlier municipal police today largely nationalized, that is, they take the police tasks largely by state authorities themselves true.
