Landestheater Schwaben

The State Theatre Swabia is a beheimatetes in the Upper Swabian Memmingen ensemble. The main venue of the ensemble is the Municipal Theatre Memmingen. History

Origin

According to the records of the town chronicle theater was played in the Middle Ages in the free imperial city. Ancestors of today's State Theatre Swabia was formed after the 1900 Kraft: Companie who rehearsed several pieces in Memmingen.

After the First World War, the city was an integral stage location of the Bavarian State Theatre in Munich. From 1937, the stage was independently and called Bavarian stage seat Memmingen. The Memminger ensemble was after the Second World War, one of the first theaters in West Germany, the 1945 could take the game operation.

Today

Today, a total of eleven new productions each season are offered, of which seven are played at the Big House, three in the studio and one on the coffee house stage. Venues

The Great House is located in the historical building of the Municipal Theatre Memmingen and has 400 seats. Since the theater production, which was completed in 2010, the house also has a studio stage. This can be variable with chairs up to 99 seats. In the theater lobby, there is also the so-called coffee house stage with around 60 seats.
