Lang Lang (Victoria)

Lang Lang is a town with about 1,500 inhabitants in the Australian state of Victoria. It is located 85 km south-east of Melbourne in the Shire of Cardinia.

The place was after the settlement of Australia one of the typical intermediate stations for transit on the west coast, then still went through unpaved, desert-like to a large extent, sandy terrain and was called " Tobinyallock ". In 1862 the construction of the McDonald - track was completed, a continuous road from Melbourne to Gippsland and the place by the river, Lang Lang, on which it is located, renamed.

Today, the region is the center of the largest asparagus growing region of the southern hemisphere. Also, beef and dairy products are produced. The Australian car company Holden operates a testing ground and a vehicle design, durability and safety test center near Lang Lang.

Since 1940, a rodeo is held annually on Easter Monday.
