Lang Ping

Lang Ping (Chinese郎平; born December 10, 1960 in Beijing, People's Republic of China ) is a former Chinese volleyball player and trainer.

Lang Ping played in the Chinese national team as Außenangreiferin ( "Iron Hammer" ) and won at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles the gold medal. It was 1981 world cup winner in Japan and 1982 world champion in Peru. In 1985, she was again World Cup winner in Japan and 1990 Vice World Champion in China.

In her career as a coach Lang Ping won the silver medal with the Chinese national team at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and in 1998 vice world champion in Japan. As a coach of Volley Modena was in 2000 by Italian masters. With the U.S. national Lang Ping took at the 2008 Olympics in her hometown of Beijing, the silver medal.

2002 Lang Ping was included in the "Volleyball Hall of Fame".
