Lang Suan District

Amphoe Lang Suan ( Thai: อำเภอ หลังสวน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Chumphon. The Chumphon province is the northernmost province of the southern region of Thailand.

Geography

Amphoe Lang Suan is by following Amphoe limited (as seen from the south clockwise from ): Amphoe Lamae and Phato Amphoe Chumphon province province, Amphoe La -un the province of Ranong and Amphoe Sawi and Amphoe Thung Tako again in Chumphon. To the east is the Gulf of Thailand.

The main river of the district is Maenam Lang Suan (Long Suan River ).

History

Lang Suan was originally a city ( Mueang ), which was directly subordinate to Bangkok. During the Thesaphiban reforms in the late 19th century it came under the responsibility of the Monthon Chumphon. On April 1, 1932, the province was dissolved, its districts, Chumphon province have been assigned.

The motto of the county is: Lang Suan, City of fruit, paddle boat races, source of the preserved durian, Royal Park.

Management

Amphoe Lang Suan consists of 13 subdistricts ( tambon), which further into 147 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Lang Suan is also the name of a city ( Mueang thesaban ) in the district. It consists of the whole tambon Lang Suan and parts of the tambon Khan Ngoen, Pho Daeng, Laem Sai and Wang Tako. Paknam Lang Suan is the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district. It consists of the entire Tambon Pak Nam.

In addition, there are twelve " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
