Langenleuba-Niederhain
Langenleuba - Niederhain is a municipality in the district Altenburger Land in Thuringia and is the seat of the administrative community Wieratal, which is the easternmost of the state. The population density is so low because the vast majority of the largest forest of the district, the Leinawald, accounts for nearly half of the community area. Geography
Penig located 9 km to the east, the county town of Altenburg 11 km west, Frohnburg 11 km north and 16 km south Glauchau.
Below the village Langenleuba - Niederhain the current flowing through the place Wiera is dammed in the dam Schömbach. The lake holds 7.71 million m³ and extends northward to Altmörbitz, a district of Kohren- Sahlis in Saxony.

History
Langenleuba 1290 was first mentioned in a deed of the stewards of Weida as " Longa Luben ". As the owner of the castle, the viscount are called Altenburg, who are probably to be regarded as a builder since that time. From 1329 the Margrave of Meissen had the suzerainty and handed over the equipment over time to several noble families (of Zschadras of Schauroth and the Lords of Kuntsch ). Kuntsch was torn down in 1707, the castle and build a castle that fell in the last century. Now it stands empty. To name the settlement of Slavic origin which might be construed as " Juba " or " luwa " - free -translated bark / bark means and forest landscape here was prevalent at that time.
20th century
Were buried in the cemetery in 1945 14 Jewish women from the central warehouse in Penig of Buchenwald at the company Max Gehrt in Penig, who had perished during the Second World War during forced labor for the Junkers works. A memorial remembers it.

Economy and infrastructure
Langenleuba - Niederhain had a railway station on the now disused railway line Altenburg- Langenleuba - Oberhain, the further west Boderitz a breakpoint. Between the breakpoint Meadow Brook ( to Frohnsdorf ) and the train Langenleuba - Niederhain the Valley of Wiera through the meadow Bacher bridge 330 meters long and 17 meters high is covered. Before 1945, the hose factory Friedemann in the village was established, the sawmill Gleitsmann, a brickyard ( the manor belonging ), several mills, artisans and farms. After 1949, arose from the hose factory, the dressings factory, lumber mill was nationalized ( the former owner used as administrator ), the former tenant of the brickworks were farmers - later in an agricultural cooperative type I - which passed in the wholesale LPG. Today, there is no industry, few craft shops are still present; predominant is the great- agriculture.
