Long Scheid is a district of Sundern ( Sauerland) in the Sauerland Sauerland district, North Rhine -Westphalia.

The health resort is situated on the hills west of the dam of Sorpetalsperre.

History

Long Scheid was first documented in the year 1307.

On 1 January 1975 Langscheid was incorporated into Sundern ( Sauerland).

Description:

The coat of arms symbols appear for the first time in 1652 on a seal and later in the Arnsberg coat of arms collection of the 1700s. The official approval was granted on 26 October 1911, the Enkhausener patron St. Lawrence as a plate holder.

Attractions

The Langscheider sights include an 1927/28, built the memorial to the fallen of the World Wars with a lookout tower and the dam of Sorpetalsperre.

Religion

Many residents of long Scheid belong to the Catholic church with its patron, Saint Anthony of hermits. The old Langscheider chapel was first mentioned in 1637 - at that time read the pastor of the parish Enkhausen here the fair.
