Long beach (often Long Beach or Long Beach, in German means " long beach ") is a suburb district and beach of Walvis Bay in Namibia on the south Atlantic. The district is located on the National Road B2 in the constituency Walvis Bay (country ), 19 kilometers north of Walvis Bay and 16 kilometers south of Swakopmund.

History

Long beach was - founded in the late 1970s as a seaside resort and has only a few hundred permanent residents - as well as the nearby Dolfynstrand ( " dolphin beach "). At Seasons and South African and Namibian school holidays, especially in December and January, but a few thousand tourists are accommodated. Among the most famous long beach visitors included Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Since November 2, 2000 long beach long beach is as Farm No. 49 district of Walvis Bay.

The name refers long beach of its long sandy beaches; the place also has next to the beach promenade a few hotels, lodges, guest houses, a campground and several facilities for sports and leisure activities.
