Lanny Morgan

Lanny Morgan ( born March 30, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa ) is an American jazz alto saxophonist -.

Lanny Morgan grew up in Los Angeles and began his music career in 1954 in the big bands of the west coast of the United States of Charlie Barnet, Si Zentner, Terry Gibbs and Bob Florence. After military service in the late 1950s he was a member of the Big Band Maynard Ferguson in the first half of the 1960s. After working a while as a freelance musician in New York City, he returned in 1969 to Los Angeles and worked primarily as a studio musician, was a member of the formation Supersax and played in the big bands of Bill Berry ( to 1975 ), Frank Capp, Vic Lewis, Bob Florence and Bill Holman (A View from the South, 1995). Lanny Morgan took a few albums under his own name for the Californian label Palo Alto Records ( 1981), VSOP (1993) Contemporary (1996); 1997 was for Fresh Sound A Suite for Yardbird with pianist Lou Levy.
