Geography
Lansing is located in the southern suburb of Chicago area on the border with Indiana at the Little Calumet River, which flows through the Calumet River into Lake Michigan. History
The first white settlers in the area that is now Lansing was August Hildebrandt place with his family. Three years later, Henry, George and John Lansing settled.
