Lantabat
Lantabat (Basque Landi Barre - Valley of the heath ) is a commune of 294 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Pyrénées- Atlantiques in the Aquitaine region. It belongs to the district of Bayonne and the canton Iholdy. The inhabitants are called Landibartar.
Districts are: Azkonbegi ( Ascombeguy ) Behaune, Gasteluzahare, Haltacolepua, Ilharre Mounko, Saint -Etienne, Saint -Martin. Neighboring municipalities are: Beyrie -sur- Joyeuse and Méharin in the north, and Armendarits Iholdy in the northwest, and Orsanco Ostabat - Asme the east, Suhescun in the West, Ainhice - Mongelos in the southwest and Larceveau- Arros- Cibits in the south.
History
The Barony Landabat was a fief of the Kingdom of Navarre.
