Lappi, Finland

Lappi [ lɑp ː i] is a former municipality in Western Finland, with around 3300 inhabitants. It is located about 20 km east of the town of Rauma in the landscape Satakunta and became the beginning of 2009, incorporated into it.

Lappi is the Finnish name for Lapland and the province of the same name. To distinguish the town was called Lappi Lappi earlier Tl, where Tl for Turun ja Porin lääni stood and pointed to the membership of the ancient province of Turku and Pori County.

In the field of Lappi is the Bronze Age burial ground of Sammallahdenmäki. Since 1999 it belongs to the first archaeological site of Finland to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites.

Lappi is a center of oven and stove production. In addition to the community center with the church in 1760, the area of Lappi includes the villages Alakieri, Hauta, Kauklainen, Kaukola, Kivikylä, Kodiksami, Kulju, Kullanperä, Kuolimaa, Murtamo, Mäentaka, Pappila, Rohdainen, Ruona, Skinnarla, Sukkala and Ylikieri.
