Lapseki is a Turkish town on the east coast of the Dardanelles in the province of Çanakkale.

It has 10,727 inhabitants ( 2008). From here, a ferry across the Dardanelles to Gallipoli.

The village lies on the site of the ancient Lampsacus, but from the almost nothing remains.

1235 the church council of Lampsacus took place here. The Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch, Alexandria and Jerusalem have decided to restore the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and Joakim I., Archbishop of Tarnovo, ordained Patriarch of Bulgaria.
