Larnas

Larnas is a commune of 162 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Ardèche. It belongs to the community association Rhône aux Gorges de l' Ardèche.

Geography

The municipality is located 8.1 kilometers south-west of Viviers on the banks of the Rhone River about 15 kilometers northeast of Vallon -Pont d'Arc on the Ardeche on a high plateau in the wine Côtes du Vivarais. The Nègue flows through the municipal area.

Attractions

The Romanesque church of Saint -Pierre dates from the 11th and 12th century and is classified as a monument historique since 1907.

Economy

The image of the church is dominated by fields, meadows and fields of lavender. To the south lies the large Bois de Laoul. An important branch of industry is the wine, also the tourism has gained through the holiday resort Le Domaine d' Imbours in the hamlet Imbours important. Local products are wines of the AOC Côtes du Vivarais and Saint- Montand, truffles and lavender.
