Larnaud

Larnaud is a commune of 528 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the Jura department in the Franche -Comté. It belongs administratively to the district of Lons -le -Saunier and the Canton Bletterans and is a member of the Association of Municipalities Bresse Revremont.

Geography

The municipality is located in the natural landscape Bresse, about 20 kilometers northeast of Louhans and 10 kilometers west of Lons -le- Saunier. The neighboring communities of Larnaud are

  • Ruffey -sur -Seille in the east,
  • Montmorot and Courlans in the southeast,
  • Fontainebrux in the south and
  • Villevieux the west and north.

The municipal area is covered by forests in the southwest. Here are 12 small lakes, including the Etang Grataloup, the Etang Baptiste, the Etang de la Communauté, the Etang Chalmache and the Etang des Grands Graviers. The latter is located in one of the two exclaves located in the southeast. Between the main settlement, a village green, and these enclaves of the A39 motorway runs.
