Lars Ahlin

Lars Ahlin ( born April 4, 1915 in Sundsvall, † 10 March 1997) was a Swedish writer.

The under poor conditions grew up with six siblings son of a salesman published his works from 1943 ( Debut: " Tabb med manifestet " ) after he had been active in a number of other professions. In 1946 he married Gunnel Ahlin.

His works are of epic proportions, the protagonists are often outsiders. Ahlin has received many major Swedish literary awards. He can be counted to the large number of Swedish workers writers and writer - in, which are an important area within the Swedish literature, but is also referred to as a religious mystic. More Swedish labor authors and workers writers are, among others: Harry Martinsson, Ivar Lo Johansson, Moa Martinsson, Sara Lidman, Wilhelm Moberg. Influenced by French and German novels of the 20s of the last century, he rejected the emotional identification of the reader with his fictional characters. As one of his models but also the Swedish writer Eyvind Johnson is mentioned. Occasionally it is compared with Dostoevsky.

The Cultural Office of the Swedish town of Sundsvall, in which he had grown up, since 1991 every two years, writes from a doped with 50,000 Skr literary scholarship.
