Lars Eller

Lars Eller Fosgaard ( born May 8, 1989 in Rødovre ) is a Danish professional ice hockey player who stands since June 2010, when the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League contract. His father Olaf was also a professional hockey player and now works as a coach.

Career

Lars Eller began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the Rødovre Mighty Bulls, in which he was active until 2005. He subsequently received a contract with the Swedish club Frölunda HC, for in their youth department, in the 2007/ 08 season he made his debut in the Elitserien after a year. He was in 21 games three assists. In addition, the attacker was in 19 games for the Borås HC in the subprime HockeyAllsvenskan on the ice. In the 2008 /09 season, the Dane was able to increase to a total of 33 points scorer in 58 games for Frölunda in Elitserien.

In the NHL Entry Draft 2007 Links shooter was also selected in the first round as the 13th overall player of the St. Louis Blues. On 5 November 2009 he made his debut for the Blues in the National Hockey League and also scored his first goal. The majority of the 2009/10 season he came, however, at their farm team in Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League action. With these he was able to convince with 18 goals and 39 Assists in 70 games and was elected to the All- Rookie Team in the AHL. In addition, he was allowed to participate in the 2010 AHL All-Star Classic. In June 2010, it gave the St. Louis Blues along with Ian Schultz in exchange for Jaroslav Halák to the Montreal Canadiens from where he could earn a regular place in the NHL team in the season 2010/11 right off the bat.

Internationally

For Denmark, Eller took at junior level at the U18 Junior B World Championships in 2006 and 2007 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 2007 and 2009 and the U20 Junior World Championship 2008 part. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the World Championships A- 2008, 2010 and 2012, and the qualification for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
