Lars Forssell

Lars Hans Carl Abraham Forssell ( born January 14, 1928 in Stockholm, † July 26, 2007 ) was a Swedish author and comedian.

Life

After attending school in the Stockholm Kungsholmen district Lars Forssell studied in the 1940s in the United States. In 1952 he finished his studies in Uppsala candidate with the completion of philosophy, which today Bachelor of Arts corresponds approximately.

Forssell worked as a cultural journalist for various newspapers and literary journals ( Utsikt, BLM, Poesi, Dagens Nyheter, Expressen); besides, he was also active as a lyric writer for cabarets and revues own. On the basis of his poetry collections, he was in 1971 elected to succeed Sigfrid Siwertz on the chair # 4 in the Swedish Academy.

In the wider Swedish public he was known primarily for his lyrics. In the 1970s he wrote as a poet and pop lyricist among other texts for the Melodifestivalen and Lill- Babs for. Forssells works include poetry collections, song books, children's books, plays, libretti for operas and translations.

He was married to Kerstin Hane since 1951 and father of Jonas Forssell. Forssell died on 26 July 2007 at the age of 79 years.
