Lars Jungnickel in July 2008
Lars Jungnickel grew up in osterzgebirgischen Geising and collected at SG Geising first football experiences. About the VfB Zittau he moved to the youth department of Dynamo Dresden and was there in the 1999/2000 season his competitive debut for the first team.
After two years as a regular in Dresden Jungnickel moved in summer 2001 to Energie Cottbus. There, he played in six seasons, a total of 27 Bundesliga matches and scored two goals and 52 second division games with five goals. At the end of the 2006/07 season, his contract was not renewed at Energie Cottbus.
Then signed Jungnickel on 20 June 2007 a contract with his former club Dynamo Dresden, with the him in the 2010/11 season reached the summit in the 2nd Bundesliga. The skilled forward played in the Dresden team mostly in central midfield or as a right-back. After several injuries was transferred to the second team in the winter break of 2012/13. His planned for the end of season 2012/2013 End of career shifted Jungnickel and was instead playing assistant coach of the second team of Dynamo Dresden.
