Lars Svendsen

Lars Fredrik Svendsen dealers ( born September 16, 1970) is a Norwegian philosopher and professor at the University of Bergen.

Svendsen graduated in 1994 his philosophy studies with a master's examination and received his doctorate in 1999 with the work of Kant's Critical Hermeneutics. Between 2001 and 2005 he was editor of the journal Norsk Filosofisk Tidsskrift. Columns of him appear regularly in the Norwegian daily Aftenposten.

His first book publication, Kjedsomhetens filosofi (1999; title of the German translation: Small philosophy of boredom ), made him internationally known. In addition, Svendsen published among other books on the philosophy of art (2000) and Touch of Evil ( 2001) as well as Metaphilosophy (2003, 2004). His work has been translated into over 20 languages ​​and has received numerous awards, so in 2008 with the Meltzerpreis for outstanding research and research agency.
