Lars Weibel

Lars Weibel ( born May 20, 1974 in Lachen SZ ) is a retired Swiss professional ice hockey goaltender.

Career

Lars Weibel began his career in 1992 at the EHC Biel. A year later, the goalkeeper moved to Lugano, where he remained until 2001. The Swiss was true in 1994 selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL Entry Draft, but was never taken by an NHL club under contract.

With the HC Lugano Weibel was 1999 Swiss Champion. As of the 2000 /01 season he played for HC Davos, where the goalkeeper was also among the top performers. In the years 2000 and 2001, he won with the HC Davos the prestigious Spengler Cup. In addition, Lars Weibel 2000 and 2002 elected into the All -Star team of the tournament. From the 2004/05 season he played for EV train. 2009 left the Swiss the club and signed as a successor to the late 21 May 2009 Robert Mueller signed a contract for the 2009/10 season with the Cologne Sharks of the German Ice Hockey League. In August 2010, Weibel ended his active career.

He is a regular studio guest at SRF two during the NLA playoffs.

Internationally

For the Swiss national ice hockey team Weibel played 44 games.
