Las Colonias Department

The Department Las Colonias located in the center of the province of Santa Fe in the center of Argentina and is one of 19 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the department of San Cristóbal, on the east by the departments of San Justo and Departamento La Capital, on the south by the departments of San Jerónimo and San Martín and to the west by the Departamento Castellanos.

The capital of the department of Las Colonias is Esperanza.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC, the population increased from 95 202 inhabitants (2001) to 95 469 inhabitants in 2005.
