Las Vegas Thunder

The Las Vegas Thunder is a former ice hockey team, which was active in the International Hockey League. The club was founded in 1993 and six years later, re-dissolved in the summer of 1999. The club colors are turquoise, black, silver and white. Their home games they wore in the 16,000 -seat Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. The official mascot was a polar bear named Boom-Boom.

History

The club was founded in 1993 and from then played in the International Hockey League. In the season 1993/ 94 and 1995/96, the club was able to occupy the first place in the main round. However, not succeeded in the Turner Cup, the championship of the IHL to win. The best season in the club's history was in 1995/96, when the team was able to demonstrate a record of 57 wins, 17 losses and eight draws at the end of the main round. In 1999, the club was disbanded. In its place, the Las Vegas Wranglers now playing from the ECHL in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Thunder had several partnerships with several teams, including, among others, with the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and the Russian first division club Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
