Las Ventas bullring in Madrid. Built in 1934 and opened Neomudéjarstil Arena offers 23,798 spectators and is the largest of Spain and behind Plaza México in Mexico City and on par with the Plaza de Toros Monumental de Valencia in Valencia ( Venezuela), one of the largest worldwide. In addition to the Las Ventas bullfighting serves among other things as a venue for concerts and various sporting events.
History
As the bull began to enjoy the beginning of the 20th century in Madrid growing audience figures, they decided to build a new city arena. In 1918, the provincial government of Madrid acquired the reasons del Espíritu Santo Ventas in the east of the city at that time. The construction of the designed by the architect José Espeliú y Arruga and Manuel Muñoz Monasterio in Neomudéjarstil Arena finally began in 1922. The first bullfight took place even during the construction phase on 17 June 1931. The income of the charity event went to unemployed construction workers. Use

When Davis Cup 2008 Las Ventas served the Spanish team, with Nadal, Ferrer, Feliciano Lopez and Verdasco in their ranks, against the United States with Roddick, Querrey, Mike Bryan and Mardy Fish as the home stadium at their semi-final encounter. The Iberians prevailed 4-1.
