Laser Camera System

The Laser Camera System (LCS ) is a tool to create three -dimensional image data of the space shuttle in space. It was developed for NASA by the Canadian company Neptec. The system is used to check the heat shield for damage to prevent a disaster like the Columbia disaster.

The LCS is a part of the orbiter boom sensor system.
