Lateef Adegbite

Lateef Oladimeji Adegbite ( born March 20, 1933, Abeokuta, Ogun, † 2012 in Lagos) was a Nigerian lawyer and politician. He was Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of Nigeria. He was co-founder of the Muslim Student's Society Nigeria ( MSSN ) in 1954.

He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter A Common Word between Us and You (English A Common Word Between Us and You), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (English " Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... " ) submitted (13 October 2007).

In 2009 he was listed in the list of 500 most influential Muslims of the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim- Christian Understanding at Georgetown University and the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre of Jordan.
