Lateral lemniscus

The lateral lemniscus (Eng. " lateral loop ( nbahn ) ") is a neural pathway in the brain stem and part of the auditory pathway. It receives information from the superior olive ( superior olivary nucleus ) and the cochlear nucleus of the opposite side ( contralateral).

From the loop body of information on both sides ( ipsilateral and contralateral) to the two lower hills ( inferior colliculi ) are forwarded to the quadrigeminal plate ( quadrigeminal ).
