The Latvian national ice hockey team of the men 's national ice hockey team's selection of Men in Latvia and occupied after the 2012 World Championships number 11 in the IIHF World Ranking.

History

The first game of the selected team, took place on February 27, 1932, in Riga, as the Lithuanian national team was defeated 3-0. The biggest win since then was the 32:0 victory over Israel on 15 March 1993 in Bled, Slovenia, during their heaviest defeat represents the 12:14 against Canada on 20 January 1935. Top scorer of the team is Leonīds Tambijevs with 154 points scorer, most inserts listed Aleksandrs Semjonovs with 209 international matches.

The team is led since 1993 by the Latvian Ice Hockey Federation. The successful participation in world championships since then were in 2000, 2004 and 2009, when the National selection each could reach the quarter-finals. In May 2006, the Latvian Ice Hockey Federation organizer of the Ice Hockey World Championship in the Latvian capital Riga.

Current coach Ted Nolan, who is supported by Harijs Vītoliņš as an assistant coach.
