Latvia women's national football team

The Latvian national football team of women representing the Baltic state of Latvia in international women's football. The national reports to the Latvian Football Federation and is trained by Didzis Matīss.

The Latvian selection is one of the weakest teams in Europe. To date, the team failed to qualify for any international tournament, but also did not always participate in the qualifications. The best position in the FIFA World Ranking was number 61, which was occupied between December 2004 and May 2006 several times. After Latvia slipped in the rankings significantly. So far only reach six wins, five of them each by one goal. The first win by two goals achieved on 13 May 2011 against the neighbor Estonia. Most games were played against the Baltic neighbors Estonia and Lithuania. So far, there were no games against Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In the pre-qualification for Euro 2013, the team finished the tournament in Macedonia the last group space.
