Latvian National Opera

The Latvian National Opera ( Latvian: Nacionālā Opera) is an opera house in the Latvian capital Riga. Built in neo-classical style building was built 1860-1863 to designs by Ludwig Bohnstedt. The building had been designed as " Deutsches Theater ".

On 16 June 1882, the building burned down and was rebuilt under the direction of architect Reinhold Schmäling again. Since 1919 located in this structure the Latvian National Opera.

From 2003 to 2007, Nelsons was chief conductor of the Latvian National Opera.
