Laufabrauð

Laufabrauð (Eng. about leaves bread) is a traditional Christmas sweets in Iceland.

It originally came from the north of Iceland, but is now eaten on the entire island territory. From a simple dough thin patties are made. The special feature are the ornaments by cutting and folding. The Laufabrauð is fried in boiling fat.
