Laugardalsvöllur

Laugardalsvöllur is the national stadium of Iceland. It is located in the district Laugardalur of Reykjavík and has a capacity of 15,000 spectators. The main grandstand in 1958, the opposite stand was built in 1997. 2006 then the main stand was renovated and enlarged, so that the stadium reached its current capacity. For important matches two other stands can be built with a total capacity of 3,000 seats. The stadium is mainly used for football matches, but also has a career, so here also may be held athletic events.

In normal operation of the Icelandic League Pepsideild the stadium is the home ground of the football club Fram Reykjavík.

The attendance record is 20,204 visitors; this was in 2004 during a friendly match between Iceland and Italy, which won the Icelanders surprising 2-0 erected.
