Launch and Early Orbit Phase

Launch and Early Orbit Phase As shortly LEOP, refers to the first phase of a satellite mission.

It begins with the launch of the satellite (English launch ) and ends with the entry into a preliminary orbit ( engl. early orbit ) around the Earth. It is followed by the in-orbit test, short IOT, in which all components are checked for operability. If the results of the start will be considered successful, and often changes the responsibility for the satellites of the organization that provided the launch vehicle or a specialized LEOP Control for operators of the satellite.
